Silvertip
in Canmore is a world-class, Les Furber designed course, cut from
the eastern slopes of the rockies. SilverTip offers 18 holes of
what many players have considered to be one of the most beautifully
designed courses in the world.
The Bow Valley area surrounding Canmore is home to several other
world class golf courses as well. Courses like the spectacular Gary
Browning designed 'Stewart Creek Golf Club' located at the foot
of the Three Sisters. 30 minutes south of Canmore lies the Kananaskis
golf course featuring two amazing 18 hole courses - Mt. Lorette
and Mount Kidd. Up the road from Canmore is the renowned Banff
Springs Golf Course which allows players to play at the foot
of majestic Mt. Rundle while the local elk population grazes nearby.
CANMORE MOUNTAIN BIKING
Canmore is well-known for having one of the top mountain
biking centres in North America - the Canmore Nordic Centre. Originally
designed for x-country skiing in the 1988 Olympics the Centre now
hosts some of the largest mountain biking events in Western Canada.
With over 60 km of trails the Noric Centre offers both single and
double track trails for beginners and experts alike.
FISHING IN THE CANMORE AREA
The Bow River, alpine lakes and crystal clear streams offer
some of the best fishing in North America. Spectacular scenery,
fresh mountain air and a variety of pristine lakes, rivers and streams
provide anglers with the chance to catch cutthroat, golden, brown,
brook, rainbow and bull trout.
